British scientists believe that they have developed a way to kill skin cancer cells in the comfort of the home! Essentially, it is a strip of elastomer plastic with LED’s embedded in it. A cream called Aminolaevulinic acid is applied to the skin prior to use that acts as a catalyst absorbing the red light of the LED’s and then targeting the cancer cells. Yet another awesome scientific/technological achievement. Clinical trials will begin in a few months, and it is hoped that they will be available within 2 years.
